Disco is an exciting blast from the past with energetic dance steps and music with funky outfits. Also known as the Hustle, disco dance has strong stylistic roots in cha cha, mambo, samba, swing, and several other dances. Made popular by the movie Saturday Night Fever, disco is a group line dance that’s usually a big hit at dance parties. If you’re a fan of Donna Summer, Bee Gees, and similar artists, this dance is for you!

Origins of Disco Dance
In the late 60s and early 70s, dancers in discos danced in a freestyle approach. At first, the moves were mostly improvised by dancers with their own style and steps. Later, the bump, the penguin, the boogaloo, and the robot became popular dance styles. By October 1975 the Hustle came to the picture. Variations include the Brooklyn Hustle, New York Hustle, and Latin Hustle.
Our style of disco dance teaches you the partner version of the hustle. The steps are reminiscing to traditional swing dance but rhythm and musicality are quite different. Disco is a fun dance with tons of personality that will certainly impress everyone.
